   My grandfather put the thumb stamp on the root saying "I am going to be the root". We were very happy.

Buster Keaton's silent film

I love Buster Keaton's silent films. He was film maker, actor, writer, comedian and producer... he was handling many things by him self. He didn't use stent actor, he acted by him self. I like that in his mind, creations interact in many ways.

Homemade Miso

Finally, my homemade red beans miso is ready to eat!  

2月に漬け始めた味噌がついに完成！小豆と米麹のお味噌です。

早速朝ごはんに甘辛味噌ダレとお味噌汁を作って頂きました。

小豆だからか、ほんのり甘くておいしかった。残りはもう少し漬けておきます。

味がどんな風に変わるのか楽しみ。

 Pineapple fired rice

 ingredients: pineapple, zucchini, carrot, ginger, garlic, green chilli, dried shrimp, scallion, shallot, cashew nats, Thai basil, fish sauce, agave, black pepper, salt, rice 

 Indian cheese ball

ingredients: potato, ricotta cheese, garam masala, salt, flower

sauce ingredients: tomato, onion, garlic, turmeric, cumin, cardamon, coriander, paprika, cilantro, pepper, salt, garam masala, oil, butter, heavy cream

New York Philharmonic park concert

ニューヨークの夏は沢山のフリーイベントがあって楽しい。

こちらは近所のプロスペクトパークで New York Philharmonic コンサート。

クラシックを聞きながら日が落ちていくのを眺め　素敵な時間でした。

こんな素晴らしいイベントをフリーで楽しめるなんてありがたい限り！

 そして最後に花火！

 Again, I went to their concert at Central Park. Actually the sounds was better here.

Tchaikovsky's violin concerto was really amazing!

もう一度聞きたくて今度はセントラルパークでのコンサートへ。

チャイコフスキーのヴァイオリン協奏曲は本当に感動的でした。

She is a Japanese famous violinist, Shoji Sayaka. She does amazing painting as well. 

6分後半からの盛り上がりがすごく好き。

ヴァイオリニストの庄司紗矢香 さんについて調べていたら、彼女はクラシックミュージックからインスピレーションを得た絵画の個展も開いたことがあるそう。彼女のように表現の域をひとつの分野に限らず表現出来る人は真のアーティストだなと思う。

Fantastic Planet

One of my favorite movie "Fantastic Planet" directed by Rene Laloux (1973).

人間のような容姿をしたオム族が巨大なドラーグ族にペットとして飼われている惑星が舞台。虫けらのように扱われていたオム族は次第に知識と知恵を得、自由を求めてドラーグ族への反撃を始める。

この映画はフランスとチェコスロバキアの合作なんだそう。チェコスロバキアと言えばJan Svankmajerの作品やドクロ教会など、シュールなものがとても多い。なぜかそういうものに惹かれる私にとってはとても興味深く、一度は訪れたい国だ。

weekend dinner and movie

We went to dinner at Pure Food and Wine. They are raw and vegan food restaurant in Gramercy.

All dishes we had were amazing. Very fresh ingredients and rich flavor. I am sure non-vegetarian/vegan people would also enjoy the meals.

グラマシーにあるRaw&Veganレストラン、Pure Food and Wineにてディナー。

全てのメニューは48度以下の熱で調理されているのだそう。新鮮な食材に豊かな香りでどのお皿もとてもおいしかった。健康でおいしいというのは料理の醍醐味だな、と思う。

Then, went to watch Wes Anderson's new movie "Moonrise Kingdom".

We loved the movie. Very cute story and visual. It just made us smile. Nothing is difficult or complicated but just something warm.
